Shutters
The awnings are an additional covering attached and connected to the outer side of the wall of the building. It is made of either, cotton, polyester, vinyl laminated to polyester fabric, acrylic material which is stretched at about sixty degrees slanting down tightly to an aluminum structure. Sometimes depending on the need it could be made of steel or iron. Whenever fabric awnings are not taken as strong ones, aluminum awnings are used when importance of heavy snowfall or heavy wind blow is to be taken as a deciding factor. It is believed even today that the shutters were used by Greek people to provide and control the light, ventilation and protection due to the tropical environment. Louvered shutters were used to minimize the heat from the sun. These types were made to point in the downward direction so as to shed the rain water. Since they were very solid it did not allow the insects into the room as it was insulated. Our eyes are not affected to that extent of going blind if we use a median between our eyes and the bright light, which may be called as blinds. Even in the case of two, three, or four wheeler vehicles the head lights when fall directly on our eyes we may be blinded, to avoid such a thing, a round shaped sticker or paint to the size of the bulb may be pasted on the rear glass to reduce the brightness and avoid getting blinded.
