Oxygen Sensor Determining The Air Fuel Ratio

For better running of any automobile or the vehicle it is important that the air and fuel ratio in the engine is perfect. In case of gasoline it is measured as 14.7 parts of air and one part of fuel. The oxygen sensor actually works like a chemical generator. The oxygen sensor compares the oxygen inside the exhaust system and the air out of the engine. While doing this comparison if it is found that the oxygen on the exhaust system is very low or not present at all then the voltage is generated by the oxygen sensor, o2 sensor in this situation. The range of the output voltage of the oxygen sensor is between 0 and 1.1 volts. With the voltage produced by the oxygen sensor the computer system sends an alert for the fuel delivery and then the automobile or the vehicle gets started. Sometimes when the oxygen sensor does not produce any voltage then the computer by itself generates the standard voltage required for the delivery of the fuel and makes the engine start. But in this condition the power generated is low or poor in quality and it may reduce the fuel efficiency of your automobile or the vehicle. This situation also causes pollution in the environment.
