Drawbacks Of Instant Messengers

Any device developed with scientific and technological aspects will have numerous advantages, but still they may or may not contain drawbacks. And instant messengers are not an exception. They also provide a lot of advantages to the users but still there are some limitations. The main drawback of instant messaging is the availability. The internet is the base for the data transfer in instant messengers. Hence, proper internet connection is a must for instant messengers. Apart from that, the instant messenger software of one user must coincide with other user’s software. If two users has two different software, then they cannot communicate through them. Moreover, using advanced features like audio and video chat will require a good internet connection with high speed. Another drawback is the inconsistency of the server. The messages sent to receiver by a sender will be stored intermediately in a server. If the server gets hanged or busy, then it affects the conversation between many pair of users. Hence the reliability of the users over the software is suffering a setback. Moreover, customer service is not available easily to the users as this is mostly a free software. These are some of the disadvantages of instant messaging.
